Diane C. Nicholson became a professional photographer in 1987.  She decided to specialize only in things that she felt passionate about and that included animals (especially horses), families (of all species), maternity and birth, Nature, some portraits and some commercial.

Over the years she has accumulated many awards and a following for her art.  Perhaps her best known image is First Born which is an image that illustrates the love of mother and babe.  The expression on her own mare– a Secretariat granddaughter– as she lay down and cuddled with her day-old foal, transcends species.

As well, she designs “Memorial Art” where she takes your snapshots of beloved people or animals and turns them into art.
